Introduction

I am a PhD student at the University at Albany, SUNY, focusing on the cross-domain collaboration of cybersecurity and federated learning. I completed my undergraduate studies at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and previously served as a lecturer at Metropolitan University, Sylhet. My research interests include Differential Privacy, Wearable Device Data Privacy, and Machine Learning.

Currently, I am exploring various fields within cybersecurity, especially including security and privacy challenges in federated learning. As I advance in my PhD, I aim to broaden my expertise and contribute to innovative solutions that address emerging security concerns. My long-term aspiration is to become a distinguished cybersecurity researcher, making a meaningful impact in advancing privacy-preserving technologies and ensuring secure systems.

I am passionate about both research and teaching, and I look forward to contributing to the academic community through collaboration, mentorship, and impactful research. Outside academia, I remain passionate about technology and eager to tackle new challenges.

Research Experience

Sept/22 - Jan/24 Unaffiliated Research
Responsibilities:
  • June 2023 – Present: Currently authoring two book chapters entitled "Introduction to IoT'' and “Research Challenges and Future Work Directions in Smart Healthcare Using IoT and Machine Learning”, referring to [B1] and [B2] publication.
  • Mar 2022 – June 2022: Worked on a book chapter entitled "Managing Health Insurance using Blockchain Technology".
    • Objective: Health insurance sector faces a variety of challenges, from granting health insurance to delivering services to insured parties. Given the constraints, this chapter briefly covers the most immediate concerns in the health insurance industry and provides insight into how blockchain technology integration can contribute to resolving these issues.
    • Outcome: Reviewed existing literature as well as different aspects of health insurance, referring to [B3] publication.
Aug/20 - Aug/22 Undergraduate Thesis
Shahjalal University of Science and Technology
Project Entitled: Assessing and Developing Differential Privacy based Algorithms for Wearable Devices
Responsibilities:
  • Objective: Wearable device-generated physiological data is very sensitive and contains personally identifiable information. Our goal is to keep this information private so that researchers (for research purposes) and doctors (for health monitoring purposes) can use it effectively in their professions.
  • Outcome:
    1. Reviewed existing literature in the project domain, referring to [J2] publication.
    2. Proposed a differential private algorithm, referring to [J1] publication.
